As expected, Nick Martinez has been placed on the 15 day disabled list with a muscle issue in his back. Replacing him on the 25 man roster is Phil Irwin, who is already on the 40 man roster, and who has been pitching in the rotation for the Round Rock Express.
I wrote about Irwin starting today yesterday, and I don't know that I have much to add, other than to say that I wasn't expecting to see the Rangers this season roll with Nick Tepesch, Miles Mikolas and Phil Irwin in back-to-back-to-back starts in July.
This season has been...less than ideal.
