Can I just say, for the millionth time, how impressed I am with Adrian Beltre? He's like a hundred years old in baseball years playing on the worst team in baseball and he absolutely brings it every game. Today, in addition to the usual 2-4 day at the the plate, Beltre did his thing at third base and helped his young maltreated pitcher live the dream of winning in his hometown in front of friends and family.

Player of the Game: That young pitcher, Nick Martinez, had the following line: 6 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, and a career high 7 K. In a year where Martinez has been thrown to the wolves -- when he should be getting better at Round Rock (at best), this was easily his best outing and it had to have felt good. I'm happy for him.
