Joey Gallo, 2014 Carolina League MVP: Texas Rangers minor league third baseman Joey Gallo has been named the Most Valuable Player in the high-A Carolina League:
Additionally, @JoeyGallo24 has been named the Carolina League's Most Valuable Player, despite just 58 games played. Congrats Joey!

To say Gallo was dominant in his 58 games for the Pelicans would be an understatement...he put up a .323/.463/.735 line that included 21 home runs, and catapulted himself from a fringe top-100 prospect to a consensus top 20 prospect in the game.
In addition, catcher Jorge Alfaro and outfielders Chris Garia and Nick Williams made the year-end Carolina League All Star team.
Congrats to C @_JorgeAlfaro11, 3B @JoeyGallo24, OF Chris Garia, and OF @NickWilliams409 for making the CL Year-End All-Star team!

Alfaro and Williams are now plying their trade at AA Frisco, along with Gallo.
The Pelicans have the best record in the Carolina League, at 79-54.
