The Rangers were winning 2-0 tonight. Nick Tepesch was in danger in the 5th inning and Ron Washington had seen enough even though Tepesch was only at 89 pitches.
Ron Washington wants win tonight over growth experience and so Tepesch is done before end of 5th.

And then, after taking Tepesch out for Roman Mendez, three pitches later, Jason Castro hit a grand slam and the Astros won by the same 4-2 score.
