Good morning, everyone...

Stefan Stevenson's game story talks about how Ron Washington chose trying to win over giving Nick Tepesch a chance to work out of trouble last night.  And of course, because it is 2014, Roman Mendez, brought into the game to snuff out the rally, allowed a single and a grand slam to lose the game anyway.

T.R. Sullivan's game story talks about how Tepesch's lack of command resulted in him getting pulled in the 5th inning with a shutout going.

Calvin Watkins has his Rapid Reaction to yesterday's 4-2 loss at the ESPN Dallas Rangers blog.

Gerry Fraley writes that the month of September will offer valuable lessons for players like Tepesch and Mendez.

The S-T's notes include, among other things, stuff on Adrian Beltre's chances at winning the batting title, Derek Holland's final rehab appearance, Jim Adduci leaving the game yesterday after banging his head, and Scott Baker's start today.

Sullivan's notes talk about Beltre, Joey Gallo, Shin-Soo Choo's surgery, and Alex Rios returning to the lineup today.
