Oakland A's trade for Adam Dunn

The Oakland A's have acquired DH Adam Dunn from the Chicago White Sox

The Oakland A's have acquired designated hitter Adam Dunn from the Chicago White Sox, per Ken Rosenthal on Twitter.  The A's are sending 23 year old minor league pitcher Nolan Sanburn to Chicago in the deal.  Sanburn was Oakland's 2012 2nd round pick...Texas selected Jamie Jarmon and Nick Williams later in that same round.

The A's have been struggling in the second half of the season, and are now four games back of the Angels.  They have been looking for a way to improve their offense, and will presumably be using Dunn as their DH against righthanded pitchers.

Dunn is hitting .220/.340/.433 on the season, in 435 plate appearances.  Dunn is a free agent after the season.  He's been a disappointment for the ChiSox...after signing a 4 year, $56 million deal after the 2010 season, Dunn has been worth -1.6 bWAR.
