Derek Holland made his third rehab start tonight, taking the mound for AA Frisco against the Tulsa Drillers. Holland had a rough go of it his last time out, when he allowed 4 runs in an inning for Round Rock, but bounced back with a solid three inning stint this evening.
Holland's final line was 3 IP, 3 hits, 4 Ks, 0 walks and 0 runs, with 30 strikes in 49 pitches, and the reports on Twitter indicated that he looked solid.
While the Rangers are out of the playoff race, the team still wants to get Holland back on the mound in the majors this season. He will probably have a couple more rehab outings in the coming days before being considered as a potential option in the major league rotation later in the month of August.
