Good morning, everybody...this nightmare season is just a little bit closer to being over.

Jeff Wilson's game story talks about Rangers starter Nick Martinez taking a step forward yesterday by recovering after a shaky start.  Also, Wilson has this to say about Mike Scioscia:

That guy would whine if someone gave him a winning lottery ticket.

Anthony Andro's game story also praises the work of Martinez, who has been asked to step up and pitch in the majors during a season where he was supposed to be in AA.

T.R. Sullivan's game story talks about the mixed bag which was Leonys Martin's game yesterday.

Calvin Watkins has his Rapid Reaction to the 7-3 Rangers loss.

Mike Scioscia is mad about the Rangers' pitchers hitting Mike Trout.

Gerry Fraley has a piece about the downward spiral of Elvis Andrus this year.

Gil Lebreton has a column this morning about Ron Washington's resignation, which includes a reference to the story out there without specifically saying what the story says.

The S-T's notes talk about Bobby Jones being presented with a Bronze Star, Derek Holland wanting to go 8 innings, Robinson Chirinos, and Nick Tepesch.

Andro has a story on Jones, and the pre-game ceremony honoring him.
