Thad Levine withdrawing from consideration for Arizona job

Texas Rangers assistant general manager Thad Levine has removed himself from consideration for the Arizona Diamondbacks general manager job, per Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram:

#Rangers assistant GM Thad Levine has told Tony LaRussa that he is withdrawing from consideration for Arizona's GM job.

Levine, considered the #2 guy in the Rangers baseball operations, was mentioned as one of close to a dozen candidates who were being considered for the D-Backs job.  The Rangers have already lost A.J. Preller, who was hired by the Padres to be their g.m., earlier this year, and losing Levine as well would have been a significant blow.
