Outfielder Jake Smolinski has been activated from the disabled list, per John Blake on Twitter.
Smolinski spent an exciting 2 weeks on the Rangers' roster in July, putting up a .389/.450/.472 line in 40 plate appearances, before being felled by a fracture in his left foot which landed him on the d.l.
The Rangers are likely going to be without Michael Choice and Alex Rios the rest of the way, and Jim Adduci, is still dealing with the effects of a concussion, so Smolinski is being activated at a time where the Rangers are need of some extra bodies in the outfield. Ryan Rua, Leonys Martin, and Daniel Robertson were the only healthy outfielders on the roster prior to Smolinski's activation today.
