Derek Holland was pretty great in his 2014 debut. He pitched seven effortless innings of one-run ball (and that run can be chalked up to consecutive misplays by an adventuring Ryan Rua in his first big league start in left field) allowing zero walks, and striking out six Royals. But, just like everything else that has happened in 2014, a solid performance is masked by yet another Rangers loss.
Player of the Game: Holland looked exactly like the No. 2 pitcher the Rangers have been missing all season. It's too bad his first start came on Sept. 2.
