The accolades for Joey Gallo just keep on coming...
MLB Pipeline has named their 2014 All-Prospect team, and Texas Rangers minor league third baseman makes the cut, being named as the DH (with Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant getting the nod at third base).
Jonathan Mayo, in his write-up, praises Gallo's ability to make adjustments and earn a promotion to AA Frisco. Gallo started the year at high-A Myrtle Beach, putting up a .323/.463/.735 line in 246 plate appearances before earning a promotion to Frisco, where he put up a .232/.334/.524 line in 291 plate appearances.
Gallo will likely start the 2015 season back at AA, and with a solid first half, could see himself promoted to AAA during the summer, and be in the mix for a possible late-season callup to the majors.
