The Texas Rangers' high-A affiliate for 2015 with be the High Desert Mavericks of the California League.

The Rangers had been wooing the Carolina Mudcats of the Carolina League, but the Mudcats opted to affiliate themselves with the Atlanta Braves.  High Desert was the last remaining high-A affiliate, so that's where Texas is landing.

High Desert is an extremely hitter-friendly park, and the California League in general is a very hitter-friendly league, so expect to see some eye-popping offensive numbers, as well as some ugly pitching lines, from the Rangers prospects in high-A in 2015.

The Rangers had been affiliated with the Myrtle Beach Pelicans for the past four years, but Myrtle Beach struck a development deal with the Chicago Cubs, leaving the Rangers to find a new home for their high-A affiliate.
