The Mariners are trying to make the playoffs and lost to these Rangers. They should feel embarrassed.

That said, they lost because Derek Holland pitched against them and Derek Holland is one of the better pitchers in the American League. These couple of starts from Holland (against KC and Seattle, teams that would be in the playoffs if the season ended today) are making me feel much better about 2015.

The Rangers finish the 2014 season series against Seattle with a winning record of 10-9.

Player of the Game: Holland went seven shutout innings against the second wild card spot leading Mariners. He has looked really good since making it back. You know what's neat? Holland has gone 14 innings in two starts with zero walks and 11 Ks in his return.
