Saturday morning Rangers news and links

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning, everyone.  It is Ben's birthday today, so feel free to go into the comments, on Twitter, or to Facebook and wish him a happy birthday.

T.R. Sullivan has a story on new reliever Juan Carlos Oviedo, who was just signed by Texas on a minor league deal, and who the Rangers are hoping can return to his pre-TJ-surgery form, when he was a solid closer for the Marlins (and going by the name Leo Nunez).

Evan Grant's countdown of his list of the top 15 prospects in the Rangers system continues with Lewis Brinson, who is ranked the #11 prospect on his list.

Baltimore has signed J.P. Arencibia to a minor league deal, because every former Ranger ends up in Baltimore.

And yesterday, Michael Choice, Shawn Tolleson and Steve Busby appeared in Longview to give a $10,000 check from the Texas Rangers to the Miracle League of East Texas, a group working to build a baseball field for children with disabilities.
