Texas Rangers rumors: Yovani Gallardo is part of a deal that has been agreed to in principle between Texas and Milwaukee, according to Joel Sherman on Twitter. Sherman says that the teams are now just reviewing medical records.
The medical records review may end up complicating things...when the San Diego Padres initially balked at completing the Matt Kemp trade because of Kemp's arthritic hips, it was noted that Padres g.m. A.J. Preller came from the Texas front office, and the Rangers apparently have a reputation for seeking to re-work deals after medical records are reviewed. The particular instance that comes to mind was the Matt Garza trade, when there were rumblings that, once the Rangers reviewed Garza's medicals, they changed what they were willing to give up for Garza.
Things appear to be moving towards completion, and hopefully, we'll know soon whether this deal is really going to happen and who will be going to Milwaukee.
