Friday morning Rangers news and links

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning, everyone...

The incredibly slow and uneventful offseason of the Texas Rangers is still pretty slow and uneventful.  The big item in the morning links is the Rangers naming their minor league award winners yesterday.

T.R. Sullivan has a story this morning on Joey Gallo, Chi Chi Gonzalez, Hanser Alberto and Phil Klein being named things of the year in the Ranger system for 2014.

Evan Grant has a blog post on the various folks who were named award winners from the minor league system for 2014.

Grant puts Luis Sardinas as the #12 prospect in the Rangers farm system in his offseason top 15 prospect rankings.

Remember Mason Tobin?  The Rangers' Rule 5 pick in the 2010-11 offseason, who ended up tearing an elbow ligament and needing Tommy John surgery?  He's back on a minor league deal.
