Baseball America continues rolling out their top 20 lists with the California League top 20, and the Rangers have placed two players on the list, with Lewis Brinson at #7 and Ryan Cordell at #15.
Brinson, of course, has been rocketing up the prospect lists the second half of this season as he had a breakout campaign that saw him perform well at high-A, AA and AAA, and ended up his stint with High Desert with a .337/.416/.628 slash line in 258 ABs.
Cordell had a rougher transition in moving up from high-A to AA, and is something of a tweener defensively, as he's played some infield and center field, but doesn't necessarily have the glove to stay there on a permanent basis, while his bat may not play at a COF spot. Still, the .311/.376/.528 slash line for High Desert was impressive, and Cordell will have the chance to go back to Frisco next year and improve on his AA performance.
