With the Rangers having clinched a playoff spot yesterday, there are several items out there on the national baseball front that at least touch on Texas today.

J.P. Morosi writes that the Rangers could win the World Series.

David Schoenfeld also identifies the Rangers as a team that "may be a stronger pick to come out of the American League than most will give them credit for."

Jayson Stark has his hypothetical ballots on various post-season awards, and while he doesn't pick any Rangers as winners, a couple of guys show up on ballots.

Fangraphs has a piece on Daniel Norris throwing 54 pitches against the Rangers earlier this week.

Jon Heyman's Inside Baseball column today is mostly about Matt Williams and the mess in Washington, but also has some Rangers notes.

Jeff Sullivan's chat session today has a couple of Rangers items in it.

Former Ranger prospect Jerad Eickhoff is the subject of a piece by Paul Sporer.

Keith Law also talks Eickhoff, Rougned Odor, Jake Thompson and the Rangers playoff rotation in his chat today.
