Texas Rangers Game 162 lineup is up

Chris Gimenez will be behind the plate today once again, catching Cole Hamels

Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

Today is Game 162 for the Texas Rangers.  If you'd told me back in March or April or May that the Rangers would have a playoff spot locked up on the final day of the season, and were playing to clinch the division, I'd have absolutely taken that.  Hell, I was saying back then I just wanted to play meaningful games in September.

We've certainly gotten that.

Jeff Banister's odd bullpen decisions yesterday have left the Rangers shorthanded for today's game, but if the Rangers were going to have a game without their big gun relievers, you probably want Cole Hamels on the mound.  Banister is going to likely have to ride him until his arm falls off today.  You have to think he's not going back to the Shawn Tolleson well, Sam Dyson is doubtful, Keone Kela is probably out...Jake Diekman is likely your closer today.

The lineup:

DeShields -- CF

Choo -- RF

Prince -- DH

Beltre -- 3B

Moreland -- 1B

Hamilton -- LF

Elvis -- SS

Odor -- 2B

Gimenez -- C

Garrett Richards goes for the Angels today, pitching on short rest.

Save us Cole Hamels...you're our only hope!
