Tanner Scheppers has had kind of a hexed season for the Rangers, as he injured his ankle in spring training, was on the disabled list early in the year, and never really got back into a groove, as he split the season between the d.l., the minors and the majors.
And to cap it all off, per Evan Grant, Scheppers needed five stitches in his right index finger after he suffered a cut during the Rangers' post-win celebration on Sunday.
Scheppers was a big weapon for the Rangers in 2013, and hopefully, he's gotten all the misfortunate out of his system now and will be a significant contributor in 2016.
Grant also mentions that the Rangers have sent six players -- Joey Gallo, Ed Lucas, Ryan Strausborger, Leonys Martin, Nick Martinez and Luke Jackson -- to Surprise, Arizona, to work with the Instructional League players and stay sharp in case they are needed at some point in the playoffs.
