Jeff Banister named finalist for Manager of the Year

Texas Rangers manager Jeff Banister has been named a finalist for the American League Manager of the Year Award.  The winner of the award will be named on November 17.

Banister, in his first year as a major league manager, led a Rangers team that finished in last place in 2014 to a division title in 2015, despite losing staff ace Yu Darvish for the year due to Tommy John surgery.

along with Banister, A.J. Hinch of the Astros and Paul Molitor of the Twins were also named finalists.
