Mike Leake to the Cardinals

Mike Leake has reportedly agreed to a five year, $80M deal with an option with the St. Louis Cardinals

Mike Leake has reportedly agreed to a five year, $80 million deal with the St. Louis Cardinals, according to multiple reports.  The deal apparently includes a mutual sixth year option.

Leake, 28, is an undersized right handed pitcher selected 8th overall in the 2009 draft by the Cincinnati Reds.  He has been just about the definition of a league average innings eater in his career, putting up a 101 ERA+ for his career while being healthy and reliable.  Leake was dealt to the San Francisco Giants by the Reds at the trade deadline, so he does not cost the Cardinals a draft pick.
