Free agent Ben Zobrist has reportedly agreed to a 4 year, $56 million deal with the Chicago Cubs

John Rieger-USA TODAY Sports

Free agent Swiss Army Knife Ben Zobrist has reportedly agreed to a four year, $56 million contract with the Chicago Cubs.

Zobrist has played a number of positions in his career, but apparently will be slotted in at second base for Chicago, as Joel Sherman is reporting that the Cubs have an agreement to send Starlin Castro to the New York Yankees.

Zobrist is being reunited with Cubs manager Joe Maddon, whom he played for for almost a decade while with the Tampa Bay Rays.  The Rays sent Zobrist to Oakland prior to the 2015 season, with the A's then shipping Zobrist to the Kansas City Royals in July, once Oakland was out of contention.
