Lefthanded pitcher Edgar Olmos, just claimed on waivers by the Texas Rangers from the Seattle Mariners, will not be throwing for the time being because of a "shoulder impingement."
The shoulder issue is the same problem that has sidelined lefty Michael Kirkman. With Kirkman and Olmos down, that means the Rangers have just two lefthanded relievers in the major league camp who are throwing -- Martire Garcia and Alex Claudio.
The Rangers also have Ross Detwiler in camp, of course, and while he is battling for a rotation spot, if he doesn't win a job as a starter, he will likely be in the bullpen as one of the lefty relievers.
