Matt Harrison, who missed most of 2013 and 2014 due to back surgeries which have put his career in jeopardy, threw off a mound today for the first time since May 13, 2014.
That game, of course, was the game in Houston where he was pulled mid-start, after which it was determined he had a condition that necessitated spinal fusion surgery. Ben and I were at that game, and watching Matt Harrison walk off the field that day was one of the most downer moments I've witnessed as a Rangers fan.
It was just 15 pitches, but Stefan Stevenson says Harrison felt good, and it is a postive step on his journey back to being a major league pitcher again.
