Yu Darvish leaves today's start with triceps tightness

Yu Darvish was pulled from today's start after only 12 pitches due to triceps tightness

Allan Henry-USA TODAY Sports

Yu Darvish had his Cactus League debut cut short today when he was removed after just 12 pitches due to "triceps tightness."

The word from the Rangers is that pulling Darvish was precautionary and that this is no big deal, but you can't help but feel a tad nervous when Yu has to leave a start because of a physical issue...particularly after all the drama and injuries from 2014.  I think we're all still a little scarred, and are fearful of the worst now.

Darvish is going to be evaluated tomorrow, and hopefully everything will be fine.  With Derek Holland dealing with a shoulder issue, this means that the Rangers' top two starters have both been sidelined in the early going this spring.  Hopefully, this is not a sign of things to come...
