Yu Darvish has sprained UCL, Tommy John surgery possible

The Texas Rangers have announced that an MRI shows Yu Darvish has a sprained UCL, and Tommy John surgery is a possibility.

This is the darkest timeline.

Yu missing the season would be a crippling blow to the team, and realistically, if he had TJ surgery now, he might not be ready for the start of 2016.

Losing their ace would open a gaping hole in the top of the rotation, and could result in the Rangers choosing to re-open discussions with the Philadelphia Phillies about Cole Hamels.

Conversely, it could also mean the Rangers would be more open to going to "sell" mode in June if the team is on the fringes of the race.
