The Texas Rangers have activated righthanded pitcher Tanner Scheppers from the 15 day disabled list, according to John Blake on Twitter.
Scheppers, who has been pitching on a rehab assignment for AA Frisco, started the season on the d.l. after dealing with an ankle injury this spring. Scheppers is expected to take over as the 8th inning guy, with Shawn Tolleson and Keone Kela handling the 6th/7th inning role.
I believe we all anticipated that this move would happen today, given that Anthony Ranaudo was optioned on Wednesday after his start against the Angels.
