Wandy Rodriguez and the Texas Rangers have agreed to a minor league deal, according to John Blake on Twitter.
Rodriguez, 36, was with the Astros from the time he joined professional ball until July, 2012, when he was traded to the Pirates for a trio of forgettable prospects. Rodriguez was with the Pirates until last May, when Pittsburgh released him. He was in camp with the Braves this spring, but was cut loose three days ago.
The Rangers will, I'm guessing, take a look at Rodriguez out of the bullpen...Rodriguez has been a starter his whole career, but the Rangers are looking for lefty relief help, and are well stocked up as far as starting pitching depth goes.
