Video: Joey Gallo had two home runs yesterday, an inside-the-park version and a regular version, and as usual, we have video of it for you. First, the inside-the-park version:
And here is the traditional variety home run:
Gallo is now hitting .333/.455/.679 on the season, with 19 walks and 33 Ks in 101 plate appearances. In the month of May, Gallo is hitting .339/.493/.750 with 18 walks and 23 Ks in 75 plate appearances. To put this into context, in Gallo's insanely hot start at high-A last year, he hit .323/.463/.735 in 246 plate appearances in high-A.
It is reasonable to believe that, if Gallo keeps hitting like this, he'll be in Round Rock by Independence Day. I'd still like to see him get the K rate down below 30%, but other than that, there's not really anything to complain about with him right now.
