2015 MLB Mock Draft:  The Texas Rangers use the #4 overall pick in the draft on Florida high school shortstop Brendan Rodgers in Keith Law's first mock draft of the 2015 draft season.

That would be quite the windfall for the Rangers, as Rodgers is generally considered the #1 overall player in this draft.  Rodgers would likely require the Rangers to allocate their whole slot bonus figure to him, limiting their ability to go overslot later in the draft, but for the #1 player in the draft, that would probably be worth it.

As we have discussed, the consensus seems to be that the Rangers would grab whichever of the top three players -- Rodgers, Dillon Tate or Dansby Swanson -- falls to them.  Failing that, the players they've been linked to of late have included college pitchers Walker Buehler and Jon Harris and LSU infielder Alex Bregman, all of whom would likely end up taking below slot deals.

Of course, its still early in the process, and things can (and likely will) change...
