Matt Harrison throws 4 scoreless innings in extended spring start

Matt Harrison took another step in his comeback from spinal fusion surgery with four shutout innings today in an extended spring game

Matt Harrison threw four shutout innings in an extended spring game today, as he continues to work towards returning to the major leagues this season.  Harrison's fastball was at 86-88 mph, though he maintained his velocity, which Harrison said was one of his goals today.

Harrison could make another start in an extended spring game on Thursday, or he could head out on a minor league rehabilitation assignment.  Mike Maddux says no decision has been made, although it sounds like they are leaning towards having him make another start at extended spring, delaying as long as possible the start of the 30 day rehab assignment clock to ensure that he'll be ready to return to the majors once those 30 days are up.
