2015 MLB Draft:  Texas Rangers and Brendan Rodgers?  Baseball America's latest mock draft has the Rangers taking Florida high school shortstop Brendan Rodgers with the #4 pick in the draft.

Rodgers has, for much of the spring, been the consensus top prospect in the draft, although there is some thought at this point that Vanderbilt shortstop Dansby Swanson may have passed him up.  BA has Swanson going first to the Diamondbacks, with LSU shortstop Alex Bregman (a player the Rangers have also been linked to) going #2, and Illinois LHP Tyler Jay going to the Rockies at #3.

Having their choice of Rodgers and Dillon Tate at #4 would probably be a dream scenario for Rangers fans, and I don't think anyone would be disappointed with Texas taking either player there.  Rodgers is a guy who gets good reviews for his hitting ability, is described as "polished," and while there are questions about whether he'll stay at shortstop as he gets more physically developed, it sounds like he has the arm to play third base if he has to shift over.

So yeah, I'd say Rodgers at #4 is probably the best case scenario for Texas.
