Welcome to the next 15 years of Chi Chi Gonzalez being a mainstay in the Rangers' rotation. Chi Chi didn't allow a hit until the 6th inning and though he walked five Red Sox hitters, he never really gave them anything to hit. Chi Chi is 1-0 as a Texas Rangers starting pitcher.

The offense was led by Adam Rosales going 4-4 and Delino DeShields going 3-4 because that's exactly how the Rangers drew it up.

Player of the Game: Chi Chi is now just the sixth Rangers starting pitcher to debut with at least five shutout innings.
