Righthanded pitcher Logan Verrett has cleared waivers and been returned to the New York Mets, according to John Blake on Twitter.
Verrett had been claimed on waivers by the Rangers at the start of the season. Verrett was selected in the Rule 5 draft this offseason, which meant he had to stay on the 25 man roster (or on the disabled list) all season, or else be offered back to the Mets, his original team.
Verrett had a 6.00 ERA in 9 IP for the Rangers, and earned the ire of Jeff Banister in his final outing with the club when he failed to cover first base on a play.
