31-28 - Rangers squander Gallardo's gem, Texas loses late

A plethora of miscues cost Texas a win even though Yovani Gallardo had his best start as a Ranger

The Rangers were kicking the ball around everywhere, making mistakes on the bases, and leaving runners in scoring position all night. They probably deserved to lose this one.

Player of the Game: Yovani Gallardo didn't deserve this, however. Gallardo tonight looked like the sort of guy who you'd feel comfortable throwing out there in a game in October. After a classic Gallardo first inning where he allowed a run after an error and threw 30ish pitches, Yo settled down and gave the Rangers seven innings while striking out a Ranger career-high 10 A's. A dubious trend of the Rangers screwing up behind Gallardo seemingly every time he takes the mound continued, unfortunately.
