Martin Perez tweaked his groin during his rehab start with Frisco a couple of days ago, and will be pulled off his current rehab assignment for about a week to allow it to heal, per the beat writers.
Perez threw three innings for Frisco on June 10, and was scheduled to make his next rehab start on Tuesday. No decision has been made on when he will make another rehab appearance, but it sounds like it would be next weekend, at the earliest.
Perez had been shooting to return to the Rangers prior to the All Star Break, but with this setback, it sounds like it is more likely that Perez returns right after the Break.
Perez and Matt Harrison have both been on track to return sometime in the early- to mid-part of July. Harrison will be making a rehab start for Round Rock tonight, and is expected to throw around 100 pitches.
