Delino DeShields was removed from today's game in the top of the sixth inning due to a hamstring injury suffered while trying to chase down a fly ball that ultimately went for a triple.

Per John Blake on Twitter, DeShields is getting a precautionary MRI.

Jake Smolinski replaced DeShields in left field, but if DeShields has to go on the disabled list, Ryan Rua would seem like the most likely option to take in left.  Rua started the season as the team's starting left fielder, but broke his ankle a week into the season, and has been on the d.l. ever since.  The only other healthy outfielder on the 40 man roster is Michael Choice, who has struggled mightily in AAA this season and is unlikely to get called up.

Rua is on the 60 day disabled list and is currently on a rehab assignment with Round Rock.  If the Rangers choose to activate him from the disabled list, they will need to make a move to clear a spot on the 40 man roster.
