Rougned Odor is being called up by the Texas Rangers, according to multiple reports on Twitter. Odor was in the starting lineup for the Round Rock Express tonight, but was pulled in the third inning.
Odor started the season as the team's second baseman, but got off to an awful start to the year, and in early May, having put up a .144/.252/.233 line in 103 plate appearances over 29 games, he was sent down to AAA Round Rock to work on getting back on track.
Odor has torn it up for the Express -- in 29 games for Round Rock, he has a .355/.430/.645 line before today's game, and his return has seemed like simply a matter of time. The question is whether Odor will be replacing an infielder -- either Hanser Alberto or Adam Rosales -- or if the injury to Delino DeShields is landing him on the d.l., with Odor taking over at second base and Rosales being a backup outfielder.
In any case, Odor will presumably be in the starting lineup when the Rangers play the Dodgers tomorrow night.
