Matt Harrison made another rehab start for the Round Rock Express today, and with a target pitch limit of 100 pitches, he ended up throwing 98 pitches over 6.2 IP. He struggled early, but then retired 13 batters in a row before walking the final batter he saw.
Harrison's final line was 6.2 IP, 5 hits, 4 walks, 5 Ks, 2 runs allowed. Harrison threw 58 strikes in 98 pitches. I haven't gotten any word as to what his velocity was like. I do think it is encouraging that he settled down as the game went on, as he has apparently been working on a couple of mechanical tweaks that he thought would help with his velocity.
Harrison will most likely make another rehab start on Friday, and can stay out on his rehab assignment until the end of this month. Harrison is working his way back from spinal fusion surgery that was thought to potentially put his career in jeopardy.
