While the Rangers said Kyle Blanks was not being considered as an option in left field when he was activated from the disabled list, the injury to Delino DeShields has resulted in a change of plans, as Blanks is getting the start out there today against L.A. lefty Brett Anderson.
The lineup:
Choo -- RF
Elvis -- SS
Fielder -- DH
Blanks -- LF
Moreland -- 1B
Gallo -- 3B
Chirinos -- C
Leonys -- CF
Alberto -- 2B
Jake Smolinski remains stuck on the bench, having not started since June 3, and having started only twice since being recalled from the minors.
The above assumes, of course, that there's actually a game today...the tarp is on the field, and it appears questionable whether or not the weather will allow the game to go forward.
