Anthony Ranaudo starting against Dodgers tomorrow

The Rangers will recall Anthony Ranaudo to start against the Los Angeles Dodgers for Thursday's game

Well, this is interesting...

The Rangers have announced that Anthony Ranaudo is being recalled to start against Zack Greinke and the Los Angeles Dodgers tomorrow.  There's no injury to a starting pitcher or anything...the Rangers just want to give all their starters an extra day of rest.

Ranaudo made one start for Texas earlier this year, giving up 6 runs in 1.2 IP against the L.A. Angels on April 15.  He's had 11 starts for Round Rock, and has put up a 2.45 ERA over 62.1 IP, with 50 Ks, 24 walks and just 4 home runs allowed.

Were I to guess, I'd say the Rangers will drop a position player to make room for Ranaudo, and then activate Ryan Rua from the disabled list on Friday when they option Ranaudo back down.  That's the time frame when Rua was expected to be activated, and so they would play one game with a four man bench (it would be a three man bench normally, but there's no DH on Thursday), and then go back to the regular setup without having to send one of their relievers down and then call someone else back up.
