Hamilton sits with hamstring issue, Gallo bats sixth

Josh Hamilton is dealing with a tight hamstring and is out of the lineup tonight, while Joey Gallo makes his major league debut hitting sixth

Jim Cowsert-USA TODAY Sports

Joey Gallo is making his major league debut today, playing third base and batting sixth, while Josh Hamilton is going to miss his second straight start due to lower body stiffness.  With Hamilton out, the Rangers' bench tonight consists of Adam Rosales and Carlos Corporan.

The lineup:

DeShields -- LF

Choo -- RF

Prince -- DH

Moreland -- 1B

Elvis -- SS

Gallo -- 3B

Chirinos -- C

Leonys -- CF

Alberto -- 2B

Colby Lewis starts for the Rangers, and Jeff Samardzija starts for Chicago.

UPDATE -- Apparently the lower body stiffness is a sore left hamstring, which he hurt heading to second on his double on Sunday.  The beat writers on Twitter are saying he's going to sit today and maybe tomorrow to be cautious with it.
