Good morning.
First off, some sad news. MLB.com's Adam McCalvy writes about the terrible murder of former Rangers' center fielder Darryl Hamilton. He was our original Hamilton and lead off hitter on the first ever AL West title team. Every player on the 1996 Rangers holds a special place in my memory (Mike Henneman excluded).
Cody Stavenhagen has a pretty awesome profile of Chi Chi Gonzalez's days at Oral Roberts under the tutelage of respected coach Rob Walton.
Gonzalez makes his fifth career start tonight for the Rangers as Stefan Stevenson takes a look at Chi Chi's astounding numbers a month into his big league career.
Before there was Chi Chi, there was Martin Perez. Anthony Andro updates on Perez's latest rehab start from Frisco last night as he made a good impression on Jon Daniels.
Daniels was on the Ben & Skin show to talk about the possibility of a six-man rotation, Elvis' struggles, and his son coming away with a bad taste in his mouth from the walk-off balk.
Stavenhagen writes about Andro, JD, Emily Jones, Elvis, and others coming together to host the second annual Do It For Durrett event to benefit the family of former DMN writer Jason Dugger.
Finally, that U-Verse commercial may have been prognosticative as Chris Cwik writes about 16 year old French shortstop Melissa Mayeux becoming the first female to ever be included on MLB's international registration list.
Have a nice day.
