Texas Rangers Minor League news: Insert demerit pun here. Travis Demeritte, the No. 30 pick in the 2013 MLB Draft by the Texas Rangers, has been suspended for 80 games for use of a banned substance.
Travis Demeritte was popped for using Furosemide, a diuretic used as a masking agent. #Rangers

Demeritte came into the season as our No. 13 ranked prospect and that number has proved to be unlucky as the young infielder will now miss the majority of the rest of the season due to his infraction.
Coming into today, Demeritte was hitting .241/.343/.412 for Low-A Hickory.
In a statement Demeritte said he accepts full responsibility for error in judgement and apologized to org., family and fans.
