Good morning. Poor Prince Fielder. By the old home run derby rules, Prince would have easily moved on to the second round after hitting the second most dingers in the first round. By the new rules, he was out of the contest as the guy who hit the most home runs in round one was the guy facing Prince in the new bracket system.
MLB.com's Jason Beck writes about Fielder falling to eventual Derby champ Todd Frazier 14 homers to 13.
Jeff Wilson writes that regardless of the Derby outcome, Prince Fielder is happy to be regarded as one of the game's best again.
Evan Grant held a chat at the DMN and answered questions about how good Fielder has been this season for the Rangers.
T.R. Sullivan notes that when the Rangers resume play on Friday, Martin Perez will be back on the mound for Texas. Yay, Marteen!
Kevin Kaduk has the starting lineups for the All-Star Game tonight where you'll find that *snicker* Dallas Keuchel will be the starting pitcher for the American League.
Mark Sheldon previews tonight's Mid-Summer Classic where once again, yes, this time it matters.
Finally, the cast and crew at the DMN give their "Franchise Four" choice for the Rangers. Obviously, it's Juan/Pudge/Nolan/Young with Adrian Beltre gaining fast.
Have a nice day.
