Texas Rangers rumors: Wandy Rodriguez, Carlos Corporan potentially available

T.R. Sullivan writes that the Rangers could move Wandy Rodriguez and Carlos Corporan before the month is up

Texas Rangers rumors:  Wandy Rodriguez and Carlos Corporan could be on the move in the next couple of weeks, based on this blog post from T.R. Sullivan.

Sullivan says that Wandy is a fallback option for teams looking for starting pitching who can't land more prominent targets, while Corporan could be moved to a team looking for catching help.  Corporan's departure would pave the way for Tomas Telis to come up from AAA to back up Robinson Chirinos for the final two months of the year.

Neither Wandy nor Corporan are likely to bring back a significant return, but if Texas could get a fringe-to-middling prospect for either -- particularly if they don't get back to .500 in the next two weeks -- you have to figure they'd make a move.

Sullivan says that a decision on Yovani Gallardo, the most attractive deadline chip the team has, won't be made until the end of the month.  Gallardo could probably bring a return similar to what Joakim Soria fetched last year, when Texas got Jake Thompson and Corey Knebel from the Tigers for Soria, but if the team is even on the fringes of the race, it sounds like they'd hang onto him rather than deal.
