So, seriously, what is it about the Rangers on the road? The Angels beat the crap out of Texas before the All-Star break in Arlington in a series sweep by a combined score of 23-8. In two games in Anaheim, the Rangers have already taken the series against what was considered the hottest team in baseball.
Texas is now on a four game winning streak and are now a not-so-absurd 4 1/2 games out of a wild card spot. With a week to go until the trade deadline, we might have either seen the last start from Yovani Gallardo or the last game the Rangers play before acquiring Cole Hamels who even knows anymore.
Player of the Game: Robinson Chirinos is hitting .229 on the year but it seems like every time he gets a hit it's for extra bases to tie the game. Tonight, Chirinos went 2-4 with a double, two RBI, and the game tying single in the fateful top of the 8th.
