The Texas Rangers have claimed catcher Bobby Wilson on waivers from Tampa Bay, according to multiple reports.
Wilson, 32, has spent time with the Angels, D-Backs and Rays, and has a career .201/.263/.299 line in 510 plate appearances.
No corresponding move has been announced yet, but my assumption is that Tomas Telis will be optioned back to AAA to make room for Wilson. Once Carlos Corporan is healthy, the Rangers will likely waive Wilson.
With Wilson being claimed, the 40 man roster now stands at 38.
UPDATE --
Rangers thought there might be some interest in Carlos Corporan before he got hurt. Claiming Bobby Wilson might be insurance
